Oil Baffle?
This is for a 94 GS-R I was wondering if there is an oil baffle or some other kind of thin sheet metal part inside the engine itself that could possibly be rattling. I know it is not any heat shield because they are all gone. It is definitely coming from somewhere in the engine bay or at least from in front of the cabin. If anybody has any suggestions or input as to what could be causing a pronounced sound of sheetmetal rattling profusely at variuos points in the rev range and is a constant background noise, I would very much appreciate it as this is driving me nuts. Thanks in advance for any help.
Piece of your cat rattling against it's housing? It's behinds the cabin, but the noise does project and you'll always hear it since the exhaust causes little pieces to always rattle around. HTH
Thanks a lot for the help. Do you know of any way to check if that is the problem that would not involve taking off the cat, the bolts that attach it to the rest of the exhaust are rusted too much to loosen with a wrench, they rounded right off and I'm lazy and don't want to drill them out. If I get off my *** on a clear day in the near future and do drill them out and get the thing off, how would I go about checking the cat then. Just shake it around and listen for rattles? Thanks in advance for any help.
