Integra in the winter! IT SUCKS!!!!
The first snow in my area fell today. We got about 4" today, suppost to get 10 more tonight. Anyways, I have never drove a Teg it the snow till now, and it SUCKS!!!!! No traction at all, Most the time I have to start out in second just to be able to get enough traction to move. At first I had my 17s with 40 series tires on, but on my lunch brake I put my stock wheels and tires back on thinking it would help, but id didn't at all!!!!!!!!!!! When I try to turn I just keep going straight! And I bearly have any stoping power. It sucks so bad! Any sugestions on what to do to make my car handle better in the snow, ice, and slush? I wish I had the money to buy a nice little 4X4 for the winter, or to move to a tropical climate where winter ment 60 degrees. But I don't
No offense but practice. Sometimes you just have to go A LOT slower than normal. All cars suffer this fate, even 4x4's. Snow tires do help a lot though. Any kind of performance tire or no(all)-season tire pretty much sucks. Practice and patience are the key though.
that is why i am sometimes thankful i live in the bay area, but then again if i lived in an area with heavy snow i'd have another car besides my teg. what am i talking about i am already saving up for another car lol.
I've never had a problem driving in the snow after two winters with my Integra. You have to go slow when taking corners and refrain from making any sudden moves, but that goes for any car in the snow. Practice, practice.

I just LUV my 'Teg on the snow!! It's one of the best snow cars I've ever driven! BUT You GOTTA USE SNOW TIRES!! Even stock tires suk in the snow, and don't talk to me about trying to get by with your 17's!!! That's just nuts!

Max hit it on the head.... You have to use snow tires! I bought a set of steelies and alpins two years ago from tirerack and use those in the winter. With the snow tires, the car is very predictible and very easy to drive in the snow. Snow tires are key. I live in CT and we get a fair amount of snow and I have not had a problem yet. Oh and make sure to wash the undersides of the car good after each storm so the salt doesn't build up!

The rust warranty from acura is only 5years/60k miles whichever comes first (im 99.99% positive on this) NOT unlimited.... if your warranty is almost up take it to a bodyshop and have the car looked over. All hondas start to rust in the passenger side rear fenderwell (no clue why) also look under the rear bumper and the undercarriage for signs of rust. If you find anything take it to the dealer.
the all seasons suck... i got blizzaks.. world of difference man. i know how it felt.. i have an LSD and even with the stock michelins i couldnt even get started. it was a death trap.
yup snow tires or chains...
i dont have to worry about it cuz I live in sunny so cal. However, I do find that my teg handles extremely well in rain or gravel. however, i heard someone worry about snow blocking off the headlights... i doubt that would become a big concern cuz that would be one really stupid design flaw on integras. Has this ever happened? Snow get stuck in the grooves in front of the round headlights, blocking off the light?

OK so last night was my birthday and I went to a club. It starts to snow like a bitch about an hour before I leave the club. I would have left eairlier but I didn't even know that it was snowing untill the club was closed. I live about 25 miles from the club. After about an hour of driving I have made it withen about 2 miles from my house. The problem is that the last 2 miles is uphill. So to make a long story short I spent from 3:00am till 8:00am trying to get some sleep in my car in the parking lot of a 7-11. Anyone else ever just have to wait a night out in your car untill plows came??? I am really thinking about snow tires now. I just dont want to spend all the $$$ on something that I will only need maybe one or two times a year when if I had a brain I wouldn't be driving anyways..,.
Last winter, I rolled around on a set of 14" steelies with Dunlop Grasphic DS1 snows. It was cool. I could go anywhere. I did a lame *** job of shovelling the driveway because I knew I could always get up with the snows. My roommates never had to push my car out. I loved it, but the car handled like *** and it was noisey and just look funny. It was great when there was snow on the ground, but usually in a day or so, it all gets cleaned up anyway. I'm putting the stock wheels back soon on and might just roll around on my FZ4s. If it gets really bad, I'll end up putting the snows on. But there is just never enough snow on the ground.

Do you guys know if 14" steel wheels will fit the GS-R? Or are 15" wheels a must in order to clear the stock rotors and calipers? I'm looking to buy a set of snow tires and wheels as well.. and I figured maybe I could save a little...

I don't have to worry about it for now, we didn't get the 10" the news said we would, we only got 1 more inch which pretty much melted away today.
Off topic: One of my best friends, Mike (Redracinghart) went sleding behind a toyota pickup last night. To make along story short, he took a tree out with his leg and broke his femur (uper leg)!!!!! It sucks, he spent like 3 hours in surgery this morning, and will have to spend the next 4 days in the hospital. The Doc said he will probably not beable to return to work for about 2 months!!!! It sucks!
