if your gsr needs bodywork too, i'd consider it. If you have a lotta money on the side that you're ready to spend on it, i'd consider it. If your gsr is mint, and u'd have to SAVE UP to repair the R, i'd forget about it.

Mint GSR > busted type R

id just stick w/the gsr.....no use trading a nice clean car for a wrecked one, even if it is a type-r....i personally dont like driving cars after they have been wrecked, especially that bad ......i know how tempting this must be, but i'd just wait till you found a better one.......good things come to those who wait!

At the very least, take it to a mechanic you know so they can do a thorough look-over on the car to see what exactly is wrong and what would need to be done to fix it. After you do that, then decide... just dont get rushed into panic buying (or trading in this case) and regret it later.

Can't say id do it. Youd be better off just putting the money into your gsr or saving up for a cleaner ITR. Things like bent frames and such are not good. Not to mention the fact that it has a salvage title.

1.) Take the ITR to a garage/honda dealership and get a quote on all the damage and everything you want fixed.

2.) Sit down and figure out what you want. A salvage Type R that isn't in good shape right now or a GSR that I am assuming is in good shape.

3.) Weigh the price options. Could you spend the same amount to modify your GSR and make the same power/etc or do you think that all the money you have to put into the ITR is worth putting it back to stock form. And still having a salvage title.

4.) What type of theft area do you have. ITR's are hot tickets for scumbags.

5.) Patience....

lol no damn way...i would not do it. there r not much different between the 2 cars except the type r vtec screams and pulls a lot harder. other than that its not worth the trade.

For the money it would take to make the type r 100% u can make ur mint gsr much faster than the r. You could probly also get the itr body parts that distinguish it from the rest of the lineup if ur concerned about the looks. Man, ppl are soo goddamn obsessed w/ a stupid red badge that says type r. All it is is a gsr w/ a body kit, slightly enhanced suspension, about 20 more hp, and a stripped interior...

if you really want to trade what i'd do is trade, find a good teg or civic shell and type r it, you know swap every thing you can, then sell the shell type r shell

a ******* clean title GSR is so hard to find right now.. i've been looking for a 94-01 GSR for about a year and a half now and have looked at many many **** ones.. and other ones thata re lets say a 01, 15k miles etc.. people want like 15,000 for it.. a salvage title type r with frame damage? doesnt usally frame damage = total lost?.. who knows..

i love the type r i mean its my favorite freaking car.. but in this trade i'd say keep your GS-R

i would keep the GSR man. it's simple why get out of a perfectly running car, to get into a car that not running. Plus cost you money to get running.

o and u should keep the money and just put a type r engine on ur car. if u want u can add type r lips. this way u can have a clean gsr with a type r conversion rather than a salvage type r to begin with.
