Toda sports injection...anyone running it?
ITBs are 2 grand. well, the twm setup is 1700 and im sure toda will charge more than that. what kind of engine managment do you use when running itbs anyway?
I'd love to learn more about these things too. I've heard from various unreliable sources that ITB's are really more for drag racing than for road racing (which is my drug of choice), but at the same time I've noticed on Best Motoring videos that the AE86's guys in Japan run ITB's on their road race Toyotas. Is it that ITBs are really hard to tune for road racing or something, or am I just being fed a lot of crap when people tell me ITB's are for drag racing only? It makes sense to me that ITB's are really only useful on fully built engines, since the extra air wouldn't be much use on a stock engine, but I don't see any reason why these things wouldn't be useful on a road course if they improve horsepower and torque numbers. Somebody enlighten me!

Dave

big bucks too but havent seen many people using it
ECP runs it in their drag CRX...I hear for N/A you get about 7-10 hps
Lip uses TWM and they are not 1700 but more like 2400 or so
look at their web site
I have been looking for a set myself to run
I might have to go to my contacts in the Phillipines or Japan for the Todas or PSI's pieces.
the exchange rates are much better then here
I can say they will benefit motors with big cams and High compression but you'll need some form of engine management
Skunk claims their ECU will run it with a fuel controller.

I've always had an idea to make an itb airbox
it's hard to explain
It's like the mugen cf intake for the s2000 but it's curled upwards towards an air scoop
the intake would have a multi-stage filtration system built inside the intake
just brainstorming, I know it's hard to understand but I tried my best

for 2400 I'd get a turbo kit. there are other better mods you can do for 2400, don't waste your money on itb's.

If your at the point with a NA setup where theres not much else you can do then This would be the next step to make more power.

is this setup streetable? Afterall, i look through max power and all the pugeots, vdubs, and other cars have itb's and they are daily drivers.

Man, the law of diminishing returns really holds true here, eh? The final 2500 bucks only gets you 7whp? But the first 2500 could get you 30...

haha j/k. kinda cool that i can actually apply what i learned in school to real world stuff.
dude...you've been negative as hell against everything lately..whats up?
allmotor is allmotor...i don't think people are looking for bang for the buck once they reach the point they are looking at ITB's. If that were the case...they would have gone turbo from the start. I also like these hp claims of people that don't own ITB's. How would you know the hp differences?
Yes...i use twm 50mm itb's. Your right...i would have bought Toda if they were available when i got mine. The ball bearing linkage is where its at

i wouldn't say they "were" hanging up frequently...but they did in the super hot summer. when i mean hang up....they were sticking with the throttle open and rpm's in the 4k range. i blipped the throttle to get the rpm's to lower. I just feel that the ballbearing linkage would be a much better choice.
I took the potential buyer of my car for a little spin...and i looked over and his eyes were pretty big. i think the ITB's woke him up

hanging up
sounds like my Holley 68mm TB
hangs up a bit but fixed with a little blip
negativity? not me I hope
I know I got mad negativity about my liking my Jun3s alot
works for me in my application all high rpms above 7k for road racing
I understand people liking whatever it is they like but hell
I am getting mad flames here
especially cos my 1/4 mile times arent good
how many passes had I made with the car
maybe 10-12
not enough to figure out how to launch the damn thing
oh well nuff said

I have a friend with the toda itb's going in soon. Just waiting for the engine to come in.
It's going to be used for raod racing. I also have another friend with the twm. Just needs to drop the engine in his eg.

Actually ITB's will be a great choice for eithe road or drag racing. It's a big power increase (I'd say around 20 HP). Tuning them is a little tricky though. Toda will have ECU's available in the future although not sure if they will have one for the ITB's or not. We shall see. Just use a Power FC and 430cc injectors for now.
555R quit the crying games will ya. Its not our fault that you BBack is sled with spoon rims. By the way when are u going to paint your fenders, they have an odd pattern to them
