is the CRX si tranny and the Hatchback Si tranny the same? TIA

my bro has a 90 crx and i have a 90 civic both si's

Yep, there is no variance between civic and crx si transmissions. However, they differ depending on when they were produced. IE the 88 si transmissions are different than the 89 and up ones.

92+ are hydro

its the same gearing, its just the spline is diff in the 88 civic ones si/dx/hf/std/ etc...
