Type R Center Console Plaque

Is the number that is on the center console arm rest the same as the last couple numbers of the vin number? I am tryg to figure out what number my Type R is and Vandals don't know how to leave anything alone.

Try searching the archives on this, because it comes up all the time.

Cliff notes: no one has found a correlation between the plaque number and any type of production information (vin, date, etc), and no one has found a reliable way of getting the number from Honda...
