Default EVO 3 seat

Hey do you guys recomend the EVO 3 seat for me. I am 6-2 250lbs and have a 38 waist, big thighs. Also have pretty big sholders. Do you think I should stay with stock seats. ie usdm type R, delsol or CRX seats. this is my weekend car (only car) car. But i like to go to the track, back roads and would love to start autocrossing, if i could find out were they are in my city.

I'm 6'2" and about 220. I do OK w/the EVO 2. See if you can find some at a retailer or racing shop and sit in both of them.

I'm not sure how advanced you are, but remember that when you change one thing in a car, you are frequently forced to look at other changes, too.

For example a DC2 ITR's OEM belts do not work very well w/an EVO.

Depends on where the buckle is.

I was able to unbolt and re-use my stock buckles in the stock location with my seat mounts, and it works ok for the street. Its not any worse than the OEM seat.

Yes, that helps; however, regardless of where the buckle is, the side bolsters will place the inertia-controlled belt too far off your waist for the OEM belts to work as designed.

Right?

Its really not that much further off than the stock arrangement.

I guess we have a different frame of reference. We will have to compare notes sometime when we're in the same place.

The 1-2" difference on the left side, IMHO, would alter how the OEM safety belts respond.

You can re-route the belt so that its through the hole in the side bolster, if you want.

George, maybe you're 1-2" less fat than RJ?

Is that what you've done, then, that you're saying the bolster doesn't interfere?

Well if you route the belt that way, its inside the bolster on the left side, although it still has to go over the bolster on the left side.

I just dont think its that bad at all in its placement, especially with fixed seats.

OK, well, we'll just have to compare notes and make sure each of us knows what the other's talking about the next time we're both in the same place.

How is your seat buckle on the right side attached?

Oh, and somebody bookmark this thread.

I think it's the only Honda-Tech thread today where people have disagreed and not engaged in verbal bombast.

So very true...

I think what RJ is trying to say is that you can unbolt the bottom of the seatbelt and run it through the lower left opening in the seat so that the lap belt sits across you... the shoulder restraint part would come across your shoulder and then over seat to reach it's upper attachment point. To me, it sounds like this would work pretty well... are you able to get the seat belt buckle through the right side opening or do you still need to run the seatbelt over the right hip bolster area?

That's how mine is setup. If the Pro2000 is at all similar to the Evo-series, that should work fine. If you need to look at mine at the Expo, George, you're welcome to.
