EF Dash Conversion
Things you need:
a) Dashboard
Biggest part that you need:
b) Center vent
The center vent is extremely brittle and they are highly sought after. To get them out of the car properly, people usually just cut the dash or break it. If you find a dash with one in there and still intact keep it in there.
c) Middle console
Basically this part covers the middle of the dash and shifter
d) Ashtray/stereo console
Everything plugs in properly from civic to CRX to the stereo, cig. Lighter and ashtray/lighter lights.
e) Gauge Cluster Dome
Make sure you get the year corresponding to your car. There are two brackets that hold the gauges; you really need the right ones. If the cluster dome you get is 88-89 the brackets need to be 88-89 and vice versa.
f) Handbrake console
You can get away with cutting yours; I bought one and left mine alone.
g) Bracket to hold center console.
Bottom center bracket (holds the bottom of dash w/ 1 bolt)
This will cost at least $300.00 for all these parts.
Without the optional stuff I rate this a 4 because you need to take the dash out and there's a single wire that I keep forgetting to unplug and its a pain. Guarantee you'll miss it.
Optional:
*If you want to keep your tilt steering:
Get the tilt steering because the CRX seats are 2" lower, therefore you need the lower tilt otherwise it will render your tilt useless.
*If you want CRX push button climate control:
Get the climate control. There are also 2 main motors for this. One is on the blower to control fresh and recirc. Air. The other is on the left hand side of the middle air control. It switches from floor vents, defrost, etc. To get these to work, take all the wiring that connects to the motors and climate control so you can re-wire your climate. It's actually a lot more work than expected. I suggest leaving your air controls alone unless you take the whole wire relay from inside the CRX.
If you want all the optional stuff, it's a 10 at least.

The single wire to unplug isn't anything to unplug, but rather, unbolt; it's a ground wire!
Don't take ANYTHING apart from the dash. Unplug the main dash harness near the steering column, take out the steering wheel, drop the column, and then unbolt the dash.
EVERYTHING will pull out with it. It's a one man job....dash is light enough you don't even need any help.

Also undo the bolts the hold your steering column up. That way you can push the steering whell down to the floor to move it out of the way of pulling the dash out. Swap you harness from the civic to the crx dash. then swap out the bracket on the floor (right under there the radio goes) from the civic and put in the crx one, then put dash in, bolt up and dont forget to screw back in your ground.
If you wanna do something else that is clean, take the center console out of an integra and install that to your civics dash, it fits pretty good and you get cupholders and an armrest out of it, the crx conversion you dont.

Man, Thanks for posting, but i dont know how i imagined the si to crx conversion would be easier than that. its almost like i dont have the time to do all that, but do have the money. id pay someone to do it, if it was decent.
