Default d16y7 swap

I just finished putting a d16y7 into my 91 crx hf. Having some problems running though. Running real rough, in the higher rpms it responds a little better, but now much.

I have a couple of question. New engine doesn't have an EGR valve. What should I do with the Vacuum line and Wiring harness plug that it connects too?

The d16y7 has a wire comming out of the front of the engine. Near the crankshaft under the timing belt. What is this for? It's unplugged at the moment, nowhere to plug it into.

Third. My temperature gauge isn't working now that the new engine is in. I don't even know where the sensor is located on either engine. Everything on the wiring harness is plugged in except the egr valve. Can anyone tell me where to look for the temperature gauge sensor.

Thanks
tk

I also have 'C' below that there is nothing on my wiring harness to plug into. What should I do with it, and the vacuum line?

thanks

The wire that your talking about near the crank and timming belt, you wont be needing that so just leave that alone..thats for obd2 vehicle...As for C... i believe your using a d16z6 manifold...i dont think that sensor is needed also...your setup is exactly like mines...if i had a camera it would be easier...if you car doesnt have any CEL den your good to go...

i think that wire that is under the timming cover next to the crank is for the cylinderpostion sensor or crank angle sensor

Okay, I got a few vacuum lines straightened out (I think) The vacuum hose to C below goes to the evap purge control on my firewall. There is also a vacuum sensor of some sort, so I used a T-connector to connect that to the same vacuum line(no where else to plug it in). Another line goes to the MAP sensor, and the last vacuum line went to the EGR, and I guess I don't have one on this engine so that is just plugged. All sound right?

It's running a bit better now, but still seems a bit sluggish. Even more so than the HF engine that was in there. I think a new computer might help a little, I'm gonna try the one out of the civic that I got the engine from. Will it be throwing a code since the crankshaft sensor is disconnected? I have nothing to connect it too. If so, how do I get around that?

Also I'm getting a little backfire or popping from the intake manifold, anyone know what could be causing that?

Thanks

sounds like your timing is off, if the car is running sluggish, I think your car will throw a code for the crank fluctuation sensor too if you don't plug it in. Maybe someone in here knows for sure and can give you a fix, any help guys? Oh and d does go to the brake booster.
