I need new tires.
Well, 2 of my tires are ripped apart from bad alignment, 1 is blown and patched, and 1 is well. But I want 4 new tires anyways. I don't have too much money to spend on tires, so I just wanna know which tires would be good for my car...
I got an ITR, I don't use it for Auto-X or anything, but I still want some decent handling and grip. I need them to be drivable in the rain and all around good tires. I'm just kinda debating between these... But if there are better ones, speak up and help me out.
-Yokohama AVS ES100. About 270 Shipped.
-Kumho Ecsta 711. About 210 Shipped.
-Falken ZE-512. About 230 Shipped.
Those are the best tires I found that were relatively cheap.
Anyways, think you guys can help me out?
Prefered Tire Size : 195/55/15

I just put the kumho 711 tires on my R. I like them for daily driving, treadwear, they are good in the rain, but in the corners they are a little sketchy, I can't push them with confidence like the azenis or p7000's that I have had. Next I am going to try the yokos, I have heard alot of good stuff about them.
I had the es100 on my old Si, compared to the kumho's i would definitely purchase the es100, better traction, less road noise, better ride. Overall a better purchase and tire. I believe I got mine for 260 installed.

There's way too much rain in MN for me to drive with Azenis. This is my daily driven car.
I'll take a look at the BF G-Force and see if I can find those.
--- EDIT ---
I found the BF G-Force Plus, but they don't seem to be cheaper than the ES100s.
By the way... Do you guys recomend that I keep the 195/55/15 tire size, or should I switch to 205/50/15?
Thanks.

Azenis arent stock sized and the BFGs arent even a choice, let alone what someones "buddy" says.
The ES100s are a very good deal. I am currently using these tires.
Ive heard nothing of complaints and dissapointments from the 711s, and I owned the 712s and even being the performance model I was still very dissapointed.
And the 512s dont really compare to the ESs as they are all-season tires.

Yup.
Since money is an issue, the fact that the ES100 will last about three times longer than the Azenis is also relevant.

I can tell you right now the ZE-512's suck... if you want a good BFG Geforce tire, go for the T/A KD or KDW's if you must.
I just purchased a set of 4 potenza s03's and they're a great all-around tire, but that may be out of the price range you're looking at.
Using 205/55/15 here

The original query seems to come from a poster in Minnesota, and money seems to be an issue.
In view of that, I like the Falken Ziex as a choice, especially since the poster's way up north.
I have the Ziex on my commuter EP3. They do fine in all weather conditions, but in the dry come close to the vaunted Azenis as far as handling. They've surprised me on a couple of occasions.
For what it's worth, the Azenis do fine in wet weather as long as you watch the tread wear. Because of the blocky tread pattern, they don't handle deep standing water very well, and as the blocky tread pattern wears they will handle wet situations less and less well. Many of us use Azenis as our "wet" track tyre, however, because as long as there is a tread pattern they seem to do fine.
The only reason I don't think Azenis is a choice for the original poster is because of the tread wear rating and the winter weather.

ES100 would be my tire of choice, I am currenty running a set on my ITR and I have no gripes about them, the few times I have had them out in the rain they have seemed to perform fine, when I say take them out im refering to just wheeling around town not track based driving.
I would also recommend the stock size of 195, when I used the 205 size on my car it made the turn in itself feel softer and less crisp.
if you are driving the car year round stay FAR FAR away from the ES100 esp in Minnesota!

just to let you know the Ziex came in with top honors on a fairly recent issue of consumer reports. they were rated the highest for all season driving compared with alot of other "top dollar" big named all season tires!! give these tires a look at!!
