arp rod bolts

Default arp rod bolts

So,

I'm gonna be getting my JDM B20b soon.... I'm gonna go with a B20Vtec setup, but my quetsion here is.. ... before i put the b20 into the car would it be simple to take the oil pan off and change the rod bolts to arp rod bolts? w/out having to dissassemble everything? can anyone give some input on that? Thanks.

No, you must recondition (machine) the rods with the new with the new torque spec., or they will be out-of-round.

Yea, the truth hurts, but I would still pull the pan, see if the oil has ever been changed, and remove the #2 rod bearing cap, or all, to check the conition of the bearings, replace if necessary, TQ to factory specs. It's cheaper to check it now, than later. Hope you got a good one.

me hopes so too, only 21k miles. maybe i should just replace rod bearings anyway? i only want this until next summer so i guess its not TOO big of a deal... always got the b18b in teh garage too. then im gonna get ahold of a B17 crank with the GSR head + JRSC should be good.


how much would it cost (on average) to have someone change the rod bolts? like if i took the block to a shop before installing
