leaking oil pan gasket - little washers missing?

Alright, my oil pan started leaking about a month ago, so I replaced it with a new seal and put honda-bond on both sides of teh gasket, but not on the bolts (somebody said not to use honda bond?) and attempted to torque the bolts to 7 ft/lbs, but I hear that's hard to do with a large torque wrench. From reading the archived threads, I've found that the oil pan might have little washers for the two bolts on the straight part on the flywheel side of the pan.
If that's true and my install procedure is wrong, would that cause a fairly large leak? I've lost 3-4 quarts since realizing the original seal started leaking about a month ago. The pan is all covered with oil and there isn't really much happening above the pan. Thanks for any insight.

hmm.. i dont recall putting any washers on the oil pan... i didnt use hondabond either and i have no leaks whatsoever.. i would check and see if anything is deformed.
Honda bond does not go on the gasket!!
Where ever the bold casting has a seam apply honda bond, i.e where the block meets the oil pump and I think at the rear of the engine. The seam is very tight so even if you forget the Honda bond I doubt it will leak.
Definitely get a 3/8" drive torque wrench, buy one from Sears. You'll save money in the long run since you won't have to do the job over and over again.

No washers I can recall. There are metal pads built into the pan which distribute the load of the screws.
