how much $ does it take to carb a b-series
i want to carb a b16 with a gsr head, i am curious how much it would cost, also where to find a good deal, i'm thinkin like mikuni's on a twm manifold
What's you budget?
I love my Mikuni's but parts availability blows compared to my friends with weber dcoe's. They stopped producing the PHH, but they still make rebuilt parts, replacement parts, and jets. You just have to know where to go. I deal with wolfcreek racing. Todd Walrich is a good guy. Theres also rebello racing, and toysport. Another tip is writing down the part numbers for the pilot/main/air correction jets and entering them in th google search. You will find that many older CV (constant velocity) bike carbs share the same jets as the Mikuni PHH sidedraft.
I got my Mikuni's for 300 used (2 x 44 phh), got my manifold for 100 (TWM Sohc), and spent about an extra 220 rebuilding my carbs the right way. Dont forget a Holley 1-4 psi regulator (25 bucks or so). There is plenty of other **** but this is the basics.

$510 per weber dcoe 45, and this isn't properly jetted/choked out of the box either so do the math.
Search ebay for Weber DCOE, or Mikuni PHH. I always see tons of clean dcoe 45's on ebay.
There are also Dellorto's, Solex's, SK's, but I wouldnt mess with those because parts are even harder* to find for those.
Contact Pierce Manifolds for a manifold, if not Weber Redline. TWM sold their carb manifold line to Pierce, or they ar ein charge of it now, or something like that.
Go on some of the older car forums to find more sidedraft users. H-T is generally ignorant to carburetion and you will constantly find your post filled with BS about them being unstreetable and a royal pain, etc etc etc.

I do not think TWM ever did a carb manifold for the GSR, if they had I would not have had to make my own. With the new prices of Webers it only cost a little more for Jenvey ITB's or a home made MC conversion. Some where I have a box of older used Weber's E-mail if you are REALLY interested.
thats to bad i knew the made a manifold for gsr itb's i thought they were the same as the carb mani's, can you post a pic of your setup?
Here's a nice setup for sale!
