Default would skunk stage 1 cams be better than stock ones

a friend told me that he put them in a typer motor and it put 200 to the wheel

uh, no.

You might see a slight increase but you aren't gonna get 30 horsepower from stage I cams.

Type R cams are already relatively aggressive. If you're gonna upgrade the valvetrain atleast go with stage II or stage III if you don't have to pass smog.
