Default 205/40/16 or 205/45/16?

My car is pretty low, sitting on H&R race springs. Any pictures of the differences between the two? What are your thoughts?

I've had both on my hatch, and the 45's looked much better IMO.

205/40/16 look like a rubberband on a rim

Get 205/45/16 not only will the ride be a little better, tires should be cheaper, better protection against potholes AND look better

205/45/16.......skinny tires are for 17-28" rims IM0.....little wheels with rubberbands look stupid and need to be lowered more or you have a nasty gap

a 45 series tire will throw of your odometer or whatever its called.

I had some 205/45/16's on my 16 inch wheels and my mileage went down from 40 mpg freeway to 34 mpg freeway. I had the car worked on before this and thought they messed something up and that's why i had the bad gas mileage. I threw the steelies on and what do you know...the gas mileage went back up to 40 mpg freeway. Both mileage readings were VERY consitant with both the 16's and the stockers. The recommended tire size for a 16 inch wheel is a 40 series tire. At least this is true with a 96 civic hatch. The 45 series tire looks much better though...HAHAHAHAHA!

45's.

i exchanged my 40's right after. looks weird on a 16" wheel.

even 17s look better on 45s. (on the dc5, etc)
