HELP...I screwed up my stock tach
I have a 92 vx hatch with a b18c1. i just switched the tach face from an Si so I could have a 9000rpm tach. When I tried to take off the tach needle, the entire shaft came out of the tach. Ever since I put it back in the tach has been screwed up. It responds very slowly, and sometime it drifts. Im pissed I screwed up my perfectly good tach. Is there anything I can do to fix it?
Thanks
Scott

can i just replace the little electromagnetic gizmo that moves the needle, or do i need a whole new instrument cluster?
and what exactly broke here? why is it not repairable? just wish i could fix it, why did it break so easy?

You should be able to get just another tach and not need a whole new cluster. It broke so easy because you didnt use the right tools for it. There are people who all they do is fix broken factory gauges, they have the right tools to do it without breaking them.
so how do i replace the tach face without breaking the tach? (how do you keep from pulling the shaft out of the tach when you remove the pointer needle?)
