Suspension Question
hey guys, a quick question, im about to redo my suspension and take out my existing which are Koni adjustables and some cheapo coilovers (flame me please, i know, bad choice in suspension), and im about to replace it with these...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...42609
what do you think? good suspension choice? I want to have a good road ride, here, where i live the roads are horrible, and i need the ride to work for me above all else, and these are meant to be a highly rated suspension system...any clues guys? you like?

if you live in a place where the roads are ****, you might want to consider getting adjustable shocks and then some springs, not coilovers. coilovers give you a bumpier ride and springs are what will be the softest ride possible. i have adjustable AGX's with eibach sportlines and it really isnt that horrible of a ride, almost kind of like stock if you ask me

same setup here, set at 2 and 6......only a little bumpy of shitty roads, but not harsh at all......no body roll whatsoever, and i still have stock sway bars.....

ok cool, so i dont necessarily need the coilover system, AGX is a brand of strut right? And then the sportlines by eibach, how much of a drop is that, i dont want the car to be too low, can i substitute these for pro-kit lowering springs, i just want the car to be a little lower so there is no fenderwell gap, and i want a good ride, thats all...

oh, can you explain the numbers to me, im a little confused, can you give me an idea of the spectrum...?
someone has 2 and 6, and someone else has 4 and 8...
someone has 2 and 6, and someone else has 4 and 8...
KYB AGX is a brand of adjustable shock... 1-4 are the numbers for adjustment in the front, and 1-8 are the numbers for adjustment in the back... 1 and 1 being the softest, 4 and 8 being the hardest. prokits would lower ur car about an inch to an inch and a half... sportlines would lower it about 2 inches. either combo would work great. you can always keep your koni yellows and use them with eibach springs too.

not to sound like an idiot, but my Koni's are like orange, and they have a little colored adjustable thing on the top of the strut mount under the hood, i have no clue how to adjust them, but yea...so the pro-kit is a good idea, and KYB AGX adjustables, yea, i think id end up going around with my settings on 1 and 2...i want it to be lowered, but i need that ride, the ride is damn important...

fat joe, can you adjust the front with them on the car, being that the adj. sits on top of the strut, and comes throuhg the top mount, and thus is sticking out in the engine bay??...also, i havent looked, but can you adjust your rears w/o taking off the wheel?

wait, the front suspension has this little dial that is the size of the face of a nickel, and it has #'s up to perhaps 5, and each number on the dial is corresponded with a different color...any idea what these are, i was told they are Koni's, i hope i didnt get ripped off...

oh, i posted this to ask anyone if they knew what kind of strut or shock this is, its orange or light red in color, and all along ive been led to believe that they are Koni's, i hope they are, i would like to keep them, but these KYB AGX do sound tempting...

this is what i do to adjust them... the fronts all you gotta do is open the hood and at the top of each of the struts is the slit where you stick the screwdriver provided in and PUSH DOWN AND TURN it to whatever setting you want. be sure to push down before you turn, or you can ruin them... the rears you have to "get down and dirty"... haha, lay on the ground and stick ur arm behind the wheel and just reach for the **** and adjust... simple, just not something you wanna do in the rain or snow
i love the AGX's...
robot sonic, it almost sounds like you have KYB AGX's, because they are a red color and at the top of the front struts where you adjuct them they are color coordinated to each setting... like green, white, black, and red i think. if they are 5 way adjustable in the front tho, then you dont have KYB agx's. im only familiar with the KYB's, so thats all i can tell ya. koni's ive heard are very good, so if you like how they feel, keep em
oh yeah, and also... the face of the KYB AGX's are prolly half the size of a nickel... so if yours is quite larger than that, i couldnt see them being AGX's.

i think mine might be the exact same things, because under the hood they are similar, the little **** thing with colors for each number, but ive never inspected the rear ones close enough to see the ****...im gonna take a look tonight!
do i just use a screwdriver to adjust the front ones?
do i just use a screwdriver to adjust the front ones?
yup...mine came with a little yellow screwdriver... PUSH DOWN and turn.... i dont know if you can turn from 4 to 1 safely... so i always go 1-2-3-4-3-2-1 just to be safe...no sense in ruining something i would have to take off with time and replace from a stupid mistake.
as far as my front set are concerned, i popped the hood and checked it out, and it looks as if its the same as what you have pictured, and the color of the shock absorber/strut seems to be the same color 2...
i dont know about the yellow screwdriver, but i do know that there is a slice where something of that sort would go, and then there is a little circular notch indicating which of the 4 it would be on, mine has 4 settings...not 5 like i originally stated, 4 settings...an seems to be the same color as yours...
Now tomorrow i need to check out the rear ones...look for that ****, its so hard because my car is lowered like 4 inches, so yea...but i'll keep you posted!
