Guys as I am writing this to you, I am a mix between really really sad and really really pissed. In fact, I'm almost at the point of tears.

I waited 8 months to get my type R fixed after damaging my rear quarter panel and rear left suspension. Those 8 months of agony finally ended last thursday when I picked the car back up.

Tonight ( Friday, 11/23/01), I went to see Spy Games at 10:35 at he Lawrenceville, Ga AMC 18 screen movie theatre with some friends. I parked near a light, 2 spots down from a Civic Si with an exhaust on it. I put the 2 empty spots between me and the car to ensure that my baby didnt get a ding. It was parked quite a bit from the movie theatre.

Well, when I got out of the movie at 12:50ish. I walk toward my car, only to see 3 males, none older than maybe 18 or 19. I was the only car left in that area by that time cause all the movies had let out. I wondered why they were there. They walked away briskly while I was about 100 yards away. When I got to my car, my window was broken. There were dents and scratches everywhere from a brick that had been used to damage my car. My rear windshield wiper was bent the wrong way.

The police wrote a report but it's unlikely that with my decription that they will be found. I'm just left to fix the damage and make a decision.

1. I go through insurance and hope for the best. I already have 1 accident and 1 ticket to my credit. Since I am just a bit older than 17 and only have 1 year of experience; there is a good possibility that I maybe kicked off the insureance plan as it as.
2. I fix it myself. There is damage to the front right fender, both doors, the windows and the rear hatch was tried to be forced open. This will be way more than my $500 deductible.

My parents blame me for not getting in soon enough, even though without this incident I would have home for my 1:00 curfew with time to spare. Damn my life sucks. I had a bad feeling before I went to the movie theatre.

 

dude it's 50 bucks for theft and **** like that through your ins. it's not a accident and nothing goes on your record.. just pay the 50 bucks and you get brand new stuff... and get everything fixed.. simple as that

If I was you, I would of sprinted towards my car, when I saw two guys standing next to it. If they start to run, pretend like you have a gun, and tell them to get on the floor, or you'll shoot. Then beat their ***.

 

Oh yeah, my gas tank lid ( but not my gas cap) was open and my hood was popped but not opened all the way. Do you think my drivetrain is ok? I drove it home and nothing from the engine was acting strainge but you can never be too sure, right?

 

Hey, what insurance company do you have? I have Allstate. I hope they do the same $50 deal cause that would be awesome.

 

Man that sucks... I feel for u man, You dont even know how many times i wish i could just care a mother ******* ak47 with me around where ever i go and just blow away all these dumb ******* idiots. I'm not sure where you live but i'm out in cali. I live in san clemente a small *** town where the stupid rich little ****** here think they are hard core because they know no better (basically cuz they have lived in this town their whole lives, and well i'm from azuza then moved to rancho cucamonga(pomona, ontario area) and now here. These stupid punk *** kids think their hot **** and basically start **** for no reasons. I dont even go to partys out here any more because their are huge fights that break out and people are getting beaten with baseball bats and stabbed/slashed with knifes. I mean it's getting bad some of these dumb ***** are slashing their own friends just cuz they dont know who is who and are just dumb. I seriouly hate this ******* place and the world is full of a bunch of *** holes. My ex-GF got her hood kicked in by a guy not too long ago who was holding his 3 or 4 year old kid while doing it. Luckily this dumb **** stayed at the mall and the police found his car and arested the ******. Just trying this reply is causeing my blood pressure to go up and my body to shake. I SERIOUSLY CANT STAND THIS ******* ****.

 

btw tell your parents to lay off it's not your fault you have a nice car and you have to deal with incompetant ********... Your parents should understand that other people have ***** envy of your car and the only way to make themselves feel better about their 82 le sabre is to smash your car... I hate people that ruin other peoples ****.. you got a problem with me face your problem with me not my car..

 

I would have hunted those **** down and put paint stripper all over every one of their cars. Only one messing with my car, can warrant me messing with anothers car.

 

Very sorry for you. Where are you from? I would still take it into insurance if I were you. If they do cut you, there is definetly someone who would, your record isn't the worst.... good luck

 

I have AAA all ins. co's have a theft coverage... call your ins. co tomorrow say I need to file a claim because my car was broken into.. and vandalized.. lot's of damage probably over 3,000 dollars to fix...etc etc..

 

Tape a spent shell casing to the inside of the window in bad areas, I actaully think this may work.

 

Thanks for your condolences/suggestions guys. I DONT KNOW WHY PEOPLE WOULD DO THIS TO OTHER PEOPLE'S PROPERTY!!!!!! I try not to touch another persons car no matter how POS it is, and I especially dont do anything if it is a great car. Like the other day, I saw a Ferrari 328 at the mall and I was like "man, I wouldnt lay a finger on that baby."

Type R's are great for getting attention, both good and bad it seems. Until today I only knew of the good.

I'm too pissed/stressed to sleep right now.

 

Don't worry just call your ins. co.. tell them what I told you and your car will be fixed and better than before.. just think if they got your hood you can get a carbon fiber hood etc.. just think of the positives of the outcome..

I live in Lawrenceville, Ga....about 20-30 mins north of downtown ATL. You know now that I think about it. I had to have expected it.
The import scene is pretty big around here. Unfortunately most of the cars make me ashamed to be a import fan. All these civics with clear corners and mufflers or tips ( not even whole exhausts ) think they can take over the world. Riceboys abound. The Imports around here arent really respected by domestics unless you have a Supra or a Rx-7.

My car is pretty rare around here. There are 4 other type R's in the area that I know of but I dont know any of them. There are definately more S2000's than type R's.

Hopefully something good will come of this. I mean seriously I make good grades ( 1410 on the SAT, all gifted and AP classes, National Merit Scholar Commendation), I'm a good kid ( well try to be most of the time ), I just became an American citizen (I am of Korean descent) and this leads me to the conclusion.....why me? This is the last thing I needed. I love my car more than perhaps anyone in my school, which, by the way, at 3600+ students is the largest HS in the nation east of Texas. I one of those people who dont think of cars as point A to point B machines. I mean if this happened to someone who thinks like that I'm sure they would be mad but probably not to the extent I am. I believe that the type R will become a collectors item someday and I wanted it to be as nice as possible not only to preserve value but so that the next owner, if there is one, would be able to enjoy what I enjoy everytime I sit behind the wheel.

Sorry now I'm rambling, sorry for my bitching (just need to get it out). I guess I should try to sleep.....it's 4:24 in the morning here and I am still rather shaken up. I wish I could have beaten the living **** out of those guys. ( please excuse my French)

Makes me not want to take it out anymore. ******** are everywhere nowadays. That's why I'm strapped. I seriously would have chased after those guys if I were you. Carry a can of bear-strength pepper spray with you, spray them in the face with it, and when they're choking and can't see anything, beat the living **** out of them.

 

I'm sorry to hear that. As a matter of fact, my last car, a 1989 Buick Century, was broken into twice in two months. Both at late movies and at different theaters. The first time, the person broke into the passenger side and took my Headunit and Cell Phone. The second time, they broke into the trunk and took my system. I actually had a bad feeling about that night before the movie.

In any event, I know it wasn't my R and all, but I may have a small inkling of how it might feel. I felt abused and violated. It wasn't fair, and even though it was a piece of ****, it was MY piece of ****.

I can't possible imagine how bad it feels to have this done to your R. Sorry Bro.

I know this doesn't make you feel better, but all this got me thinking about it again. Thoght I'd vent. Stupid bastards.

ITR#203 - I'm really sorry to hear about it... especially since that's in my 'hood. Are you driving a PY ITR w/ clear corners w/ blue lights + exhaust? I always see one in the s'ville area heading out (to l'ville?). Anyway, if you contact the manager of the movie theatre, they might have caught the incident on their parking lot cameras. (which I think they might have.)
