Decisions...Decisions... maybe b18c5/jdmb18c? or k20?
Seeing as how I was away for a while, my uncles decided it was a good idea to remove the engine (while drunk off their asses) from my car and just leave it in my garage... At that point I was going to take a sledgehammer to their skulls until I found out a friend of mine got a GS handed down to her from her bro. Taking a look at this GS it looks fine but the engine is pure crap. I haven't asked what exactly is wrong with it but I was told that the estimate for repairs is about $1200. Considering my engine is just hanging around right now and upon reading about engine swaps I told her I'd sell her my engine and install it for much less then 1200. My first question is about how much would be a reasonable price, for a friend, for an ls engine with about 47,000 miles on it?
Now for me, engine swap's have peaked my interest and have mainly been reading about the b18c5 and k20 swaps. The b18c5 is cheaper and sounds easier but don't you also need to change the axles and whatnot? The k20 swap just seem's kinda intruiging, although expensive. There hasn't been too much to read on this swap except for the fact that "This is the future of swaps"... Any advice or opinion's on this.

k20's are going to quite difficult to swap in, but not impossible. I believe the crank spins in the opposite direction than the B-series or something to that affect. There's a company out there that makes custon motor mounts for Civics and Integras, can't recall the name.
well the Ls motor, i've seen people sell them for around $1200-$1500.. so i guess for a friend, you can sell it for something less then that.
and as for the motor swap, i would go with either. if you have the money and time, go for the k20 but if not then just get jdm type r motor.
