Default how do u know if the tranny is good with out put it on to a car??? type R transmission

i recently bought a used type r tranny, the seller say it in good conditon but i don't want to put it on to my car and find out it's bad or grinds is there any way to check it beside take it to a tranny shop?

Being that it's relatively simple to swap a tranny, I would go ahead and install it just to check. It's impossible to tell the internal condition of a tranny from looking at it on the outside.

HAH!!!

its not easy to swap a tranny if you have never done it before.

Just turn the input shaft and see if it sounds smooth with no bump or grinds interfering.

it should be good.

i would not suggest this...i've had a completely blown tranny with an input shaft that did not jiggle and rotated perfectly with no grinds or bumps...have peace of mind and install tranny to check
