B18c5 bare longblock in gsr questions
I have a few questions about this setup as I am thinking about going this route:
First off, I have a 1996 GSR that threw a rod out the side of the block and cracked the head. I just purchased an ITR shortblock (before I realized that my gsr head was cracked.) I am now considering buying an ITR head.....
I know that if I get an ITR head, I will need to find an ITR IM - but will I need to purchase sensors and a throttle body for the ITR manifold as well or can I swap them from my GSR manifold? Is the GSR manifold mounting bracket different than the ITR manifold mount?
Will I need to find any other ITR parts (mounts or anything else) to make this swap happen?
Will my stock P72 ECU and GSR wiring harnesses work adequately with this setup? If not, what is the best way to go ECU-wise?
Thanks for any and all help!

im not 100% sure but i think u have to get a manifold that would match the year of ur car....since urs is a 96 u have to stick to 96-98 parts...i would find another gsr head and 96-98 manifold to make things easier
The skunk 2 manifold for an ITR looks to be the same from '97 - '01. My question is really about the difficulty of this setup into a gsr.
If I go with the ITR head and some compatible IM, what else do I need? As stated above, I have a good gsr manifold with all sensors and a throttlebody. Will I need to buy any sensors or change any wiring to be compatible with the type R IM?
I know that I will need to buy an exhaust header as well....
Also, will my stock P72 ecu be adequate for this setup? (I hear that the ITR manifold does not have any secondaries....) If not, will a stock P73 OBDII work? If not, what do I have to do?
Thanks for your help -

You shouldn't need anything else to use the ITR head with ITR intake manifold in your GSR. You may have to lengthen/shorten a few wires, and you will have the plug from the secondary butterflies left over, but that's nothing a zip tie can't take care of. Your stock ECU and harness will do the job just fine, however you can extract much more potential out of the engine with either a P73, a properly chipped P28/P30, or something else like Hondata/Uberdata.
