I would go all DEI (clifford, viper). Just goto http://www.directed.com/contact/locator.asp and choose your local zip. You can ask them for all the prices and install questions because prices/labor depends on where you live. You can try circuit city and best buy but i would ask them questions on how they will do your install:

Where would he plan on hiding the brain, the siren and the valet switch?
Where would he (I keep saying he, but it could be a she) put the LED?
Is there a plug-in aftermarket harness for your car or truck's model year that can provide power, starter kill and ignition, which avoids cutting some wires?
How good are his installation practices: does he make reliable connections, and hide wires in factory loom?
What are your programming options with the system you choose, and what convenience options do you want or can you afford, such as remote control windows or remote start?
Hiding the brain is probably the most important thing an installer can do to protect your vehicle besides making secure connections. Experts recommend doing substantial disassembly of the dash to hide the module of the system as far out of reach of the thief as possible, so discuss this in detail with the installer.
There are other issues as well, like product reliability, warranty and service. Does the brand you choose have a theft guarantee in case your vehicle does get stolen, despite the best efforts of the manufacturer and the retailer? "

most reputable alarms are the same or comparable they only differ in amount of features and possible channels. Most important thing is INSTALLION, done right and VERY VERY HIDDEN, common places thiefs check is under dash and behind glove box so try to find another place to put the brain or make it very hard to get too.
