Default ZC Swap questions

OK guys once again I have some questions. Well, with the help of a friend my lil bro is getting a DOHC ZC for his 88 CRX DX. So my questions: What is needed to have the swap done? What ECU do I need to look for? Do I need motor mounts? Do I need a different shift linkage? What clutch would I use? What harness do I need?

Ohh yeah and one more how is the aftermarket for the ZC we are mainly looking for the basic bolt ons like header, intake, catback, TB, etc.

Thanks and I did searched but didnt came up with the answer to the questions above..

EDIT: Now that I think about it you're probably right.

ZC is one character too short to complete a search. I keep forgetting it has to be at least 3 characters, which makes searching for ZC impossible.

http://www.thezcr.com ....do some searches there. You'll find a lot!

What is needed to have the swap done?
not much at all however i would recommend changing it to mulit point, it is better than the dual point.
What ECU do I need to look for?
you can get the crx si ecu, 88-89 teg ecu, or the jdm zc ecu.
Do I need motor mounts?
only if the ones that are in the car are shoot, but no you use the stock crx mounts
Do I need a different shift linkage?
nope
What clutch would I use?
d-seires clutch
What harness do I need?
you could try to chang the dx to work but i would just buy a si of hf crx wireing harness you could also use the jdm zc wire harness
header
d-seires got mine on ebay for a dohc zc
intake
stock si crx intake
catback
crx exhaulst

the dohc is a d-seires so most all d parts will fit it

this will help you http://www.88crx.com

What ECU do I need to look for? 88-89 Intergra 5 SP ECU or ZC (JDM)

Do I need motor mounts? Use the old ones

Do I need a different shift linkage? Same shift linkage

What clutch would I use? Use the clutch that matches the transmission (I would recommend using an SI gearbox the DX is geared for fuel milage not power)

What harness do I need? The conversion form DX (DPFI) to SI (MPFI) is easier if you ccan get your hands on an SI harness including the resistor box (OBD 0)

As far as after market intakes and headers for the D series will work but port matching is required on the exhaust. Plenty of catback and exhaust systems designed for the CRX SI chassis will work just fine.

For the ecu, you'll get a million different opinions. My solution (and the best one, of course ) was to take out my stock Si ecu, and send it out to get it rechipped for the zc program. I just don't trust used ecus. And the Integra or Si ones in stock form are not exactly kosher. But, your bro doesn't have that luck, so his best bet is to get whichever ecu he can (Si, Teg, or jdm zc), depending on what price he can accept, or availability to him. The reprogram is about $100, I think (been 3 years!), so if he gets the Teg or Si ecu and isn't happy with it, he could get the reprogramming done at a later date if he doesn't want to cough up the $100.

As for the header, I've got a Kamikaze for the Si that bolts up perfectly; I'd recommend it, especially since it's pretty good quality, too.

as far as i know the teg ecu is the best because of the fule curve it feel lile vtec when you hit 6rpms i will pop in the si ecu and tell u the diffents

I dont know all the parts that you will need but search a little bit and tell me what you need i will look around as well

OK lets see, so far this is what i gather that i need.. please tell me if i need anything else

DOHC ZC(bolts to current mounts)
Resistor Pack for injectors
Si Tranny(bolts to ZC block)
88-89 Teg or 88-91 Si ECU(fit the current plug)

Now another question. To do the DPFI to MPFI, is there any harness that i can buy that will plug straight up or will the rewiring be required, my ultimate goal is to make this swap as clean and as OEM looking as possible...
