Cant get the zc in
OK well i have the tranny bolted to the zc and when i go to put it in i cant get it to line up right in the engine bay. Do i need to slant the engine while putting it in? Please help me
with the tranny on its prob easier to install the complete assembly from the bottom.if you have a lift..thats how i like to do mine..i just wheel engine and trans assembly under car on two jacks..one under engine other under tranny..then i lower car down on it..piece of cake like this..only gotta be careful if you do it with intake on,you might crush TPS sensor cause it does get a little tight going up.
You didn't say what year, but when I dropped my brown top teg and tranny into my '84, I used a couple of old seat belts and an engine hoist to drop the motor from the top. I was by myself and had the shifter rods attached. Just lower an inch at a time and a little judicious wiggling and I got it in.
I forgot to mention that the front of the car was on jackstands.

have the motor slanted with the tranny side down. lower it slowly until the whole engine goes in the bay(lower until it's under the mounting brackets). Then bring it back up slowly, trying to line up the tranny mount first. Bolt that mount into the bracket. After that, lower the driver's side mount back into the bracket
