If you have the HCP mounts, there's a 4th mount. the 4th mount does make a difference believe it or not. To fit the 4th mount on my car I didn't have to modify, but to get an aftermarket header in, I had to bash the front crossmember to clear it.
dont you think it would have been a lot easyer to just notch the crossmemeber then to bash it?
but back to the question at hand, most mount kits need the front mount on the front crossmember to be removed, some need to crossmember to be notched/bashed for a header to clear, you may even be able to get enough clearance with adding some large washers to move the crossmember foward more.

the hasport mount kit was designed to only have 3 mounts, thus the 4th mount is not needed, and there is nothing that needs to be done to make up for the missing mount.

you dont need the 4th mount, but you do have to remove the bracket that is welded onto the crossmember that holds the 4th mount, otherwise the motor will tranny and motor will bump up against it. you have to do this with hasport, and place racing mounts.

this is true, but looking at the question-
"so with the HAsport mount kit that i bought i wont be able to use the front mount? what should i do make up for the missing mount? "
he dont have to make up for the missing mount he has to adjust/remove the crossmember/front mount bracket just like you stated

Did i mention anything about arizona racing mounts? i specifically stated that you would need to do this with hasport and place racing mounts.

Sandwhich=monkey....back on topic ladies.
With the Hasport kit, yes, you will have to alter the front crossmember motor mount...for the 50th time.
I don't know about the exhaust manifold downpipe though, I haven't actually gotten to that point in my swap
... By the way, do I have to modify the crossmember for downpipe clearance for my B16A swap into my CRX? I am using 1st Gen Hasport mounts and a stock B16A header.

the stock header i recieved with my swap cleared the cross memeber, however, it wouldnt connect to the cat, it was about 2 inches to short, and the collector was on the wrong side, my quess is that it would cost about 50 bucks to get this fixed at a exhaust shop, i happend to have a 00 b16a header in my garage, i put it on and everything bolted up properly.
Im currently using the jdm ctr 4-2-1 cast header and to get it to clear all i had to was grind down the lip on the xmember a little bit.

It would have, but the only tool I had was a sledge hammer. It would have been easier with my sawzallm but my dad had it at the time.

using HCP mounts, I didn't originally have to modify the xmember with using the stock manifold, but when I switched to my jdm header, I did have to dent it in.
Is the HCP mount set the only one that uses the 4th mount? Every time I show someone my swap, they're bewildered that I have a 4th mount. It wasn't that hard to put in either. The 4th mount and the fact that the HCP mounts retain the stock location is why I used them.

place racing uses a 4th mount if you use there crossmember, other wise hcp is the oddball with 4 mounts.
i dont think 4 mounts would be bad, but im sure it would interfere with turbo

But isn't a b16a supposed to be supported by 4 mounts stock? Why is it that theirs is the only one that really holds it without any real modifications? I do notice a difference though, I've driven my friend's crx with a hasport mount kit vs. mine with a hcp mount kit. The front mount is tiny, doesn't really stick out much.
