I believe that the money saved on the price of the R can be used to make the gsr faster than the R

You'll need to be more specific than full mod.

At FULL mod on both motors you are basically replacing all the internals and everything will be the same. So both motors will technically be the same.

In short, if you are doing a FULL rebuild get the c1. The c5 is a great motor as it is and that's why its loved by all.

What he said. At full mod both engines will be identical. The GSR modded up to the price of the Type R might be more powerful, but no way in hell will it have the factory reliability of the Type R. To me at least that's very important as I don't want to keep tabs on how many times I redlined it.

Thats where every ricer messes up what makes the R so special are its chassis enhancments and beefy suspension the engine is but a small part....The R is not a straight line car....

I dont think he was referring to chassis and all the little things that make the R special. I think the guy posting above you was strictly talking about the motors............at least i hope he was.
