Max HP on stock axles
the thing that brakes axles is a shock load, which is where your tires grip so good that you shear the axles off at the hub, it happend to ITR206 i think
they'll snap if you have ltosa pweor then drop the cluthc or even slightly drop ti for a hard launch then the engagement jsut breaks ****.. whena t the line.. pull the ebrake up enoguh to hold the car a tiny bit. ride the clutch while holdnig revs ready for a launch. donig this will creep teh car forward a bit and ahve everything in full contact so tehre is elss ofa shock when you let go for the launch. jsut be sure to let go of the ebrake okay?
I wasted the differential output bearing at 10 psi on my F23. If you spin your tires a lot at higher speeds (2nd, 3rd gears) you are more prone to damage these bearings. You will probably break your axles if you use slicks or are constantly launching hard. High horsepower cars don't break axles unless they have Godly amounts of traction. Your car is definately traction limited and should never break an axle on the street unless you have 19" rims or crazy tires.

It really all depends
I broke my JDM itr 36mm axle's my 2nd run, my first time at the track since I bought the 99 si (came with 5 lug). Both inners were trashed. No snapping just shaking! I would say the pass. side was the worst of the 2. Any way the car had I/H/E and lowered with sportlines/koni/camber adjusters front and rear with yokohama street tires and act clutch. I was not dumping the clutch super hard core at ALL. Launched a 3K and I have experience launching at the track in all kinds of different Honda’s and it made no difference, the axle's broke!
On the other hand I have seen 400+hp Honda's using stock axle's w/o a problem and also have not had 1 problem with my other si (same year) with aprx 275hp and still running on the axles I drove it off the showroom floor with 5 years and 60k miles ago
(been boosted for 6k or so)
I would say just stick with stock until it brake's. More than half the time when an axle brake's you can still drive the car any way. Just my .02$$

Courtney Green (UglyassCivic on here) as well as myself have used stock axles all of last season ( i think he still is), hes gone low 10's on them, ive gone mid 10's on them... Both cars were makin 600hp or a shade under 600hp (in my case)... Stock axles, stock diff.. all driver
Listen to Ron . No one seems to understand its not the HP that breaks axles. its the sudden Impact and too much traction that breaks them . if you launch higher chances are you will clear fine . On reg street tires i dont see how you can break them unless your susp is not set up correclty. and yes i have seen some stupid ricers go up to the line in stock SOHC civics with the rears jacked and the front slammed and snap axles on stock tires. putting too much weight and stress on the joints
