Default 2 1/4 in. catback on type R muffler

im currently running a hayameXT1 muffler on my gsr and its sooo loud. im looking for somethign quieter and more subtle. will a type R muffler fit on the 2 1/4 cat back piping? how will it sound? quiet? will it work out? performace loss?

Hmmm, I can't answer all of your questions, but I do know that the Type-R muffler is quiet for how well it flows. I don't think you're going to see any performance loss at all. I'm not sure about the bolting up to 2 1/4" piping though. It might be kind of expensive to pick one of these up though. Unless you know someone that has one sitting around, I'd say definitely go for it! Type R parts are high quality.

yea but couldn't i just order a type R muffler from the acura dealership? they have all the parts. anybody know how much one would go for from the dealership? and does anyone know if there are any fitting issues wit the type R muffler welding onto 2 1/4 in. cat back?

I don't know the answer to your questions. Is that the kind of post you are looking for?
