What is the highest compression ratio you can safely run with 91 octane gas?

There is really no definitive answer to your question. Timing, cooling effeciency, valve overlap, etc. can all have an adverse effect.

The celica has an 11.5 compresion ratio and is designed to run on 91octane, but the manual recomends 95octane for optimum performance.

I doubt that. How can the manual recommend an octane so high that it is not widely available in the U.S.?

I think the new RSX is at 11:1...somebody confirm this.

I think you mean Tuning....I don't know what tunning is

THe compression IS 11.5 to 1 but maybe its not so high strung when you factor in the valve overlap. Just a thought.

The glove box manual. The 2ZZGE refers to the gt-s engine. I can only guess Toyota was generous enough to include an extra mapping for 95octane

This looks like it's a manual for a car built for another market, not the US market (since it gives capacity in liters). Must not apply to the US market Celica GT-S.
