unless you are a race car and even then you'd only need a shift light IMO.

buy 3 or 4 of them....that way if you're reaching down for a cd or talking on the cellphone you don't even have to look in front of you.

I think shiftlights are handy, as you don't have to look at the tach for the right time to shift, or hit the rev limiter. (then again, you learn the sound of your car)

You could be looking at what's in front of you, and see the blinking with your peripheral vision - w00tage.

Yes, I am Captain Obvious!

Moral of the story? Don't get a tach, get a shift light y0!
