OT: Engine mounts
I know engine mounts are not expensive, but people told
me they are awefully difficult to install. The entire
engine has to be taken out to install them. Are they blowing
Smoke?
Also, is it streetable?

Yes, they're blowing smoke. I'll be installing some this weekend, as I am positive you don't need a hoist.
I believe the most difficult aspect of the job is the rear mount...
Of course they're streetable...your car will shake more though

I just did my rear mount last night. I don't have any special tools or a lift, and it took me about 3.5 hours. Thing's a major biatch to install with the supercharger in place, but it probably wouldn't have been so difficult otherwise. All I have to say about the install is that freakin' triangle bracket can go to hell!! I haven't driven yet, so no idea about vibration or performance gains with the last mount installed.
There aren't that many choices. Either Mugen or Spoon with their hard rubber or ES/Prothane with the Urethane Inserts. The Mugen and Spoon ones don't vibrate as much but aren't as stiff (duh) and also are entirely new mounts not just inserts. Well worth the money for real life useability IMO.

I've been driving for about a year with the left and right inserts in place, and they did help reduce wheel hop, and engine weight-transfer in fast corners, but wheel hop was still a problem for me. With the rear insert now in place, I can definitely say that wheel hop is no longer a problem. I can induce some hop, but only when the road is slick with rain and with my near-bald re010's at a stiff 36psi.
There are a few other things I've noticed with the rear mount installed. My clutch engagement when I launch is much crisper now. I don't have to feather the clutch so much now in order for the clutch to grab hold. I also notice a little more vibration inside the car, but it is almost not noticeable, and there is a little more "growl" from the engine which can be heard inside the car. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the results with the third mount, and I'm only disappointed that I didn't install it a year ago.
