My friends looking at a CRX, and I'm just wondering, what are people thinking when they do ****? First off the armrest fell off the right door, so they used DRYWALL SCREWS to put it back on. They added a couple gauges where the cd player goes, they used a plastice piece over it and screwed the plastic into the dash, once again with DRYWALL SCREWS. now outside the car... they put a new bumpers on it, and what do you know? They are held on with ******* drywall screws. There drywall screws on both sides holding the side lights in. The paint job was so bad you can see where the pain ran like mad all over. The wheel wells were rusted so they did a shitty shitty bondo job and its all cracked.

Really what kind of a ******* moron does this to a car? They want 800 for the car, and hes thinking about getting it. Really, the rest of the body isn't to bad. rust needs to be fixed in the wheel wells, new door panels, and new dash. Then new bumpers and new corners, he doesn't care about the engine because hes just going to swap it. Think 800 is a decent price? I'm thinking he should offer him 500.

ya, I would lean more towards 500, its obvious the owner didn't care or didn't know how to properly treat the car, so there could be other things you don't know about it.....

 

I dunno what it is with honda peeps and drywall screws..I see that all the time.

 

300$ TOPS!! i've bought crx's that had mint to good bodies for 500$!! if he really wants a crx or a civic hb. then tell him to wait it out to find the best deal!! those people are idiots to think to get 800$ out of that crx!! and to do what they did to it.

 

I would just steer clear of this car...seems more trouble than its worth..you can find something better for $500 easily. I have a shell for sale soon in chicago if your friend wants to make a drive. It needs rust repaired but at least you won't be fixing up the previous owners mess. And I'm not just saying to steer clear because I want you to buy my car.

 

back when i was shopping for a crx, i looked at a car that was rusted completely through on the rear fenders, doors, front fenders, door jams... pretty much everywhere.. it was filthy with dog hair and falling apart inside.. they wanted $1000... wtf?!? oh, and it was a dx, and it had sand under the hood, almost like it got submerged or something.

 

i paid 150 for my hatch. it was in better condition than you just described there.

 

yeah, I'd say to stay away from that CRX too. I've got a CRX for sale here for $500 in way better condition than that (And it doesn't have any rust either, yay for Cali! ). Too much crap and you don't know what you'll run into when you strip it down to clean her up.

Actually, he might be interested. I'll tell him. I'm in southwest michigan, so its not that bad of a drive. Good body? Good interior?

Ya I paid 150.00 for my HB & it runs great & is very clean & only has front end damage. 800.00??? hell no.

 

i paid 800 for a clean 89 crx hf (all i had to do was remove some neons in the interior they used drywall screws too) I paid 100 for a 88 crx si with blown clutch and some rust in one quarter. I traded a set of rims for a crx with dohc zc that didnt run and a bodykit put on with drywall screws.

sorry bout lagging on the reply....body's good, I just replaced the doors and fenders. Only thing about the body that's bad is that the hood uses these messed up hood pins, but it's a relatively minor problem. Interior is aged, but decent....needs carpet and driver's side door panel. I've got it all stripped down right now, but I could get you some pictures if you're interested.

I paid $450 driver side fender and door jacked. Talked him down from $1,200

if your friend doesnt know how to work on cars tell to stay away cuz your going to fined out more problems with the car he'll put way too much money into the car and be broke

 

i just flew out to B.C, from Ottawa, my dad lives out, there took a week off work, flew out, looked arounf for two days found the cleanest Crx, $3000 canadian, no rust
one owner, all service records, drove it back took me three days, was offered $7500. and the car is bone stock, fresh Championship white paint job only current upgrade, cant believe the looks u get in these cars,

i got mine for $300 and has a strong engine and even it has rust on some spots, which i am planning to fix in a couple of weeks or maybe next week... the interior was still good... just dusty when i got it.. and a few repairs...

tell your friend to offer that guy $400-$450

 

2nite i just bought a 90si hatch for$700.no dents no rust,clean interior. rebuild engine. one problem its been garaged for 2yrs and he didnt pay tags,and the ac dont work. other than that im cool. 2morrow im selling my other 90si hatch for $1500

 

i agree with him...too much...got my hatch for $800 and it runs has no drywall screws and next ot no rust....
