I run all the RM (ef-1) valve train with great results (10.8 @ 132 turbo) and have never had one problem at all..but I also have a buddys engine built up with all of omni's valve train and have had zero problems and great results aswell..I say go with the better price or flip a coin..LOL

I've ran the EF-1/RM valvesprings and retainers and had good luck with them. Great price and very nice product! They were by far the stiffest spring that I've ever felt(compared to skunk2, crower, itr). Which I've heard omniman say isn't always neccessary but reassuring none the less.... With that being said, next time round I might give omniman a try!
Either way you're dealing with and supporting two great guys who do more than their part in our scene!

im getting my head done by portflow with the omnipower full setup. the flat tops valves should give you a great bump in compression as well. .4 actually is the quoted #. check it out. go with what you feel comfortable with. i have faith in steve and know his products are worth whatever cost.

Just by looking st both Omni Power and RM, looks as if the valves/valve springs might be either the same or from the same source... The retainers are slightly different between the 2 though...

If thats the case, it wouldnt matter which one I guess...

I could be wrong though, Im just going by looks and aplications listings...

Rocket or Omniman chime in and correct me if Im wrong/off...

teh rm valvesprign i think are much more stiffer. made for more hardcore cams. but too much pressure mite not be good it could mess up the cam but i dont want to give false info. the omni power valvespring put out less pressure it seems that its made more for not so hardcore of a cam but im not sure. as for the valves im not sure which ones are lighter but their both flat faced.

Here are some of the reasons I think they may be the same products sold by both RM and Omnipower...

Valve springs

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by www.m24x.com &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

GEN-2 springs have 55 lbs. on the seat and 180 lbs. at 12mm of lift. These springs can handle up to 14mm of lift</TD></TR></TABLE>

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by www.OmnipowerUSA.com &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
-Omni-Power valve spring measurements:
-Seat pressure 55 lb’s
-Coil bind 14 mm
-Pressure @ 12.7mm/.500 lift 180 approx. +-1%
-Max lift 13.2 mm</TD></TR></TABLE>

They use different retainers which would explain the differences in max lift lift... Rockets retainers are shorter, similar to JG's retainers which have been advertized as adding somewhere around .060 lift capacity... Omni's retainers are more of the portflow style...

Valves

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by www.m24x.com &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Intake valves have the same underhead as the Type-R and a stemmed down neck to increase flow.It also has a thinner margin to increase valve to valve clearance and reduce weight. Exhaust valves are two piece and utilize an inconel head which can withstand extremely high temperature. All valve stems use the same metal as the OEM valves which prevent the tips from mushrooming. Special introductory price for complete set of intake and exhaust valves</TD></TR></TABLE>

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by www.OmnipowerUSA.com &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
Omni-Power B Series intake valves feature SUH-11 material which is the same material used by Honda. The tips are designed to prevent mushrooming and the stems are cut for increased flow and reduced weight (Just like Type R).

Omni-Power B Series exhaust valves are a 2 piece design just like OEM Honda. The upper stems are made out of SUH-11 and the heads are made out of NCF-751 (Inconel) to withstand extreme temperatures.

Our focus was to manufacture a product that not only performed well but could rival the reliability found in OEM Honda products. We feel that we achieved our goal and according to Brad at RLZ Engineering, these valves flow better than all other high end valves he has tested</TD></TR></TABLE>
That reminded me of this test...

Just a few things I noticed... It looks, jusdging by the differences in retail pricing that Rocket is buying from Omni at wholesale...

But like I said, I could be totally off, just some coincidences I noticed...

flat face valves add weight, which in turn will increase possibility of valve float at higher rpms, and also more drag on the valve train itself. and for what? .2 points of compression? not worth it.

Both Robert (Rocket) and Steve (omniman) are great people, and are offering outstanding services and products to us at unbelieveable prices.

choose which ever one you personally like, I went with the complete RM line up.

However I will be using Omnimans race suspension when it is available.

Or the opposite could be true, but we would have to hear that from the horsies' mouthes.
