TEIN Flex or OmniPower coilovers?
I am considering on purchasing a set of TEIN Flex for my EJ copue (with type R LCAs) but i keep hearing a lot of good stuff about the omnipower coilovers too.
which coilovers you think I should get: Flex are damper adjustable, shock length adjustable and have pillowball mounts VS Omnipower height adjustable, not length adjustable (as far as I know), and no pillowball mounts (as far as I know), not damper adjustable (as far as I know).
Does anyone know the spring rates of the omnipower coilovers for an ITR? not sure if they even make coilovers for the ITR. if not, then omni's are out of the question because I have the ITR LCAs on my coupe.
I'll be doing quite a few track events as soon as I put coilovers on my car (speedtrials, redline track events, etc.) that's what the coilovers are going be used for.
So I would like to know what are your inputs about these coilovers.
P.S. budget is not an issue, as I can afford both coilovers...

I got TEIN Flex in my Hatch and a friend of mine put them in his TEG! we both agree they are nice. they install ultra easy. we both play around with auto-x and road racing. ive done a bit of asking around and if you stay in the TEIN line alot of auto-x ppl like the RAs as well. im going to ride on my Flex till they go then ill play around with the RA or something else ? no idea right now!
Hope that helps

So, yes they do make them for the R. I've heard alot of good things about the OmniPower coilovers. They are length adjustable to keep proper shock travel i believe and they do have upper mounts. The only thing they don't have is adjustable damping. I'm in the same boat, i'm torn between the Tein Flex and OmniPower. I don't like the fact that the Flex has crappy rear spring rates tho
.
oh, and the OmniPower coilovers for the R are available with optional stiffer spring rates also

If it is your daily driver, get the Omni's. They are very well engineered and are also very cheap. I think they are only 650 a set on kteller.com.
Everyone keeps raving about how well they combine handling and ride quality.

Well, almost all that info was incorrect. The only thing that is different is that the damping is non adjustable. Also the OmniPower coilovers have a nice 46mm piston size as opposed to the Flexs' 36 or 39mm.
uh, neither?
why do people think that Tein and Omni are the only damper companies. GO with a true US race proven suspension, which can be had for much cheaper....

wtf,
between the 2,
flex,
you get everything the omnis have, but damping adjustability.
while most ppl who post about their omnis "love them so mucH" if you read carefully as to how the coilovers ACTUALLY perform, it has been mentioned that they are a LITTLE on the bouncy side.
meaning they are probably alittle underdampened, depending on the springrates you get. That brings up one point about the omni's.. i sincerely doubt they substitute stronger struts when you pick the higher springrates.
with the flex if you go with a higher rate, you can turn the damping up..
course i'm not sure how high their damping range is..

its really simple man,
omni power are good FOR THEIR PRICE,
FLEX are just plain GOOD.
