worked out a super lucky deal with a type R owner to buy his b18c5 block cheap, slapped on a gsr head to only find out that the rings were toast.. so now the engine is in the shop getting a lovely makeover.. but he sat up many many nights with steel wool, metal polish, cleaners, and some aluminum heat paint to make this new project look like an actual brand spankin new engine. every nut and bolt in the engine bay was replaced with those pretty new brassy ones from honda.. still have a lot of cleanup to do w/ wiring etc, but he needed to get the car running so he threw the engine in quickly to get his folks off his back about using the garage for so long. anyways, here are the almost finished results.. oh yeah, he also painted the bay black while the engine was out.






edit: tranny is a 99 Si tranny w/ a final drive & LSD, i cant wait to see how it feels

he got a lot of nice little toys during the put together process.. toda flywheel, toda timing belt, spoon grounding kit, spoon cam gears, ITR cams, nice clutch (forgot what kind)

hes also got a set of silver SSR type X's that he wouldnt mind selling.
