Swap Help
Sorry for Swap Help thread number 230925925-98235-023 on HT, but I need stuff specific to my situation.
1988 CRX Si + JDM B16A w\J1 tranny (XSi motor)
I pulled the header and A pipe off, converted from the 91 harness to the 88 harness (because of injector resistor plug) and after I banged out the dog house for the alternator, the rear lip for the bracket, and the front motor mount ( I don't have tools to cut it off ) I dropped the bitch in, and DAMN is the rear bracket a bitch!!! Much thanks to DROPPEDCRXSI for his webpage, it's helped a lot throughout the swap.
-Wiring harness is plugged in
-Starter is removed for room to work at this time
-Axles + intermediate shaft are not in yet
-Shift linkage not installed yet
-Radiator is still out
-Header and down pipe is still out
-Need to put oil in motor and tranny ( I bought a case of 10w30 Mobil DriveClean for now)
-Need to put radiator fluid in (I bought a thing of Zerex, it's green, the **** that was in my old motor and radiator and the new motor was all green, so if I put green in, it's not gonna **** anything up is it?)
-B16 ECU is not plugged in or pinned yet for the 4 new wires (VTEC, VTEC Oil Pressure, Knock and what's the 4th again?)
Before I say anything else, I'm still a noob. I need to get all of that **** listed above taken care of, but then I gotta figure out the vacuum lines. There are several thin black tubes coming off of something that sits on the firewall just off center of the engine bay towards the passeneger side. I noticed that I have two of what looks to be solenoids back there, where as the 90s and 91s seem to only have one. Apparently, I'm told I have too many vacuum lines which come from whatever is mounted in the rear of the engine bay and that several of them need to be teed off and only a few get used. Which ones do I use, and how do I tee the extra's off?
