Default cheap motor swap?

I have a 91 civic std hatch. The motor is burning oil bad. I was going to swap in a B series, but I decided to pick up an eg for auto-x/track duties. So that is the car destined for the B. I need to replace the motor for daily driving puposes. I'd also like to get a 5spd tranny as well. I was thinking swapping in a d16a6 & tranny. What do you guys think? It has to be cheap & pretty simple. I dont want to have to change mounts, axles, or any other major (expensive) parts. Any suggestions? Also, any ideas of where to get these parts would be appreciated. I seem to be able to find motors here & there, but its hard to find a tranny.

Any sites or write ups you can think of that might help?

You can get a JDM D15B for less than $500, then use an Si tranny. That's what I'm doing.

If I get the DOHC zc, won't I have to swap the axles?

Not if you use the SI/DX tranny you dont. Dont get the DOHC, get the SOHC ZC, better aftermarket support then the DOHC and much easier to get parts for.

Do you guys think it would be worth buying a d16a6 complete swap(engine, tranny, ecu,& misc.) with 110k miles. I know these motors last a while, but it's not local & I'd have to pay shipping. What do you all think would be a good price to pay for this swap?

dx tranny- dime a dozen

this will NOT be fast, but it will be peppy and quick as needed and fun and mega cheap

this daily driver setup will own... power to push the car adiquetly and a cheap 5 speed
