Default b18c5 or Toda Race header?

would these both give the same power to my b16a2?

a b18c5 short block or a toda race header

same gains correct?

a header is just a header, a simple upgrade compared to a block

a Toda Race Header is not just a header.

It is a 1000$ header. gains are around 15 - 20 whp

how much does a block on my 00 si make

around the same correct?

It's not even close to the same thing, just cause it cost a $1000 doesn't mean it's gonna do more than ant other header. With a C5 block you will be getting so much more. Better pistons, rods, etc. not to mention going from a 1.6 to a 1.8.

Go with the C5 block

ummm the block would make a much bigger difference
the block would turn your 1.6 into a 1.8
also you are paying for the name toda for the header
There are a bunch of headers out there that are cheaper and just as good if not better than toda

you will not gain 15-20 WHEEL hp with a toda header. Or any header for that matter. I'm sorry. Never. Not on that motor. Send me a dyno with a header alone making 15-20 hp to the wheels and ill send you 50$

Depends on your definition of better. For example, Headertech might produce about the same numbers, but you wait 2-6 months for it and then it hangs really low.

there shouldnt even be a question, get the frickin' block, the toda will not get you 15-20 hp instantly, the block gives more displacement, meaning more tq. and hp throughout the entire powerband, not only now but more room for upgrade in the future, so GET THE BLOCK

im not sure everyone is taking into account installation of a block vs a header. i agree the block is a better choice but can he afford down time and the additional cost of install?
