Im thinking about getting a type r motor and transmission and I just wanted a heads up on what I should replace before I put it in my car

water pump, head gasket, timing belt - replace the cap plugs and wires and you're good to go

 

anything in the tranny I should worry about

 

Stock clutch dics is a real big liability and costly to replace when the motor/tranny is in the car.

yeah, replace the stock clutch and have your flywheel re-surfaced... are you aware of anything the owner has told u? like any grinding, gears popping out etc?

 

The syncros IMO suck *** in alot of honda transmissions.

wallet definitely, Im not ready to buy yet but Im preparing myself for whatever I might encounter so I dont have to worry about it later

 

would skunk stage 1 cams be better than stock ones(typer)

 

just do the timing belt/waterpump/headgasket/cap/rotor. oil pump should be fine.


usually first thing to "break" are the synchros tho.
