D16Z6/D16Y8 into mpfi CRX ----- WHAT DIZZY DO I USE????
ok, im looking to put a d16z6 or a y8 into my brother crx ....
it was a dx that i have converted to mpfi and put a d16a6 into it .... the a6 blew up and now im looking for a low mileage/afordable motor....
lets even incude maybe just puting a y7 motor in(no vtec) cause ill be buying the best looking/lowest milleage motor i can find ....
now what dizzy will i need to use with these motors???? will the d16a6 one bolt onto the other heads??? or will i have to hardwire a dizzy off of the new motor???
someone help me out!!!
anything else i may need to know about this swap????

dizzy bolts right onto a y8, need to modify some things to put it on a z6.
did the a6 run great (no codes or problems) b4 it blew?
you might want to try a obd0-obd1 conversion and use an entire z6 setup.

if ur using the y8 head....either use the A6 dizzy or use the Y8 dizzy and swap it with the obd0 plugs.
If ur running a z6 head...USE THE Z6 DIZZY!. Just solder on the obd0 plugs or make ur own little dizzy conversion harness like this:
This is actually pretty simple. I make conversion harnesses like this all the time...I can do an mpfi swap without even soldering anything!!!

If you use the Y8 distributor or the Z6 distributor you will need to convert to OBD1.

no...you won't have to convert to obd1. just swap the plugs or use a small conversion harness like i posted above. you can make it urself. I've done it many times. works perfect like stock.

no he's right. obd-0 dizzy have different number of teeth on the gear then obd-1 or obd-2.

Mis informing..............
The z6 and y8 have a different number of teeth on its pickup so it wont work on a pm6 or obd0 ecu. Get the y8 the a6 dizzy will bolt right up to it and still use the obd0 ecu....If you get a z6 you have to modify your mounting tabs on your a6 dizzy to work.

I'm right.
The reluctor inside the OBD-0 and OBD-1 distributors have different number of teeth on them. OBD-2 have the same as the OBD-1.
The problem isn't wiring it up. The problem is that the number of electrical pulses sent to the ECU are different. The ECU doesn't like it and runs incorrectly.
