Default Painted civic grill pics

Well my friend and I were bored today so we decided to paint his grill. He has a 96 hatch and he wanted that open grill look. So we took it off cut the grill insert out smoothed it out applied bondo sanded some more primed, painted and cleared. Let me know what you think.

hrmmm dont really think that was -necessary on a 96-98 grill seing as how you could have done that without stripping paint, but it looks nice

It didnt have any paint it was just that black plastic, similar to non-painted side moldings. I will get installed pics tomorrow.

Ok for steps,
1. Used a hacksaw blade to cut the grill out of the housing.
2. Dremeled areas where grill was connectng to get it smoothed. (after cutting the grill the plastic was still rough hence the use of the dremel)
3. Applied bondo where needed
4. Sanded it down with 80 and worked my way up to 400
5. Primed with some primer from autozone.
6. Wet sanded with 600
7. Sprayed with Dupli color for "black hondas"
8. Sprayed Dupli color clear
9. Used some cheap rubbing and polishing compound I had lying around.(Turtle Wax brand)
10. And then sit back and have a drink!!!

Did you get the "black honda" paint from autozone? How was the match?

Yes I did get the paint from autozone and the match was pretty good. However, being that his car needs a good polished I believe the colors will match perfect after the car has been polished and waxed.
