roarring noise ony my rear tires
I just replace my struts, coil overs and camber kit on my hatch, due to bad strut which cause my tires to have uneven tire wear plus my negative stock camber from lowering. I have this weird sound from my rear wheels which sounded like those big off-road trucks.. roorrr you get my point. after four wheel alignment and new tires I can still hear that noise especially when I make a turn, the tire shop said that it's cause by a bad hub on my rear disc assembly. anyone have a second opinion? pls help..
wheel bearing.
[and yes, this is one of the few REAL cases of a bad wheel bearing. too often ppl throw out "check your wheel bearing" whenever someone mentions any wheel noise when it doesnt even match a symptom of a bad wheel bearing (ie. clonking). but this pretty much the greatest indication that the problem is a wheel bearing gone bad (an increase in loud whirring noise relative to speed).]

ive repacked it with temporary success. this was on my race car however and i didnt have a replacement and needed to run the next session. it did eliminate the noise. but if its bad, its already made metal-metal contact and probably worn out then so it needs replacement.
damm quick replies! thanks guys .. I guess i'm getting a new bearing. any idea how much does it cost per side? does it need pressing?
you cant just replace one or the other in the rear. its all part of the hub. (as opposed to the front) so you have to buy a new rear hub to fix a bad rear wheel bearing.
no, you dont need a press for the rears. its a really simple job. at worst, the inner race gets stuck on the spindle, which theres not a lot of room to grab on and pull it out.
