Default sir front?

So i was researching the sir front end. And i read that you have to have hood fenders and bumper? or something of that sort. So i am guessing that you can't put the sir front bumper on the civic without the rest? And one more ? whats the diffrence from the ef8 and ef9 i know its a dumb ? but i dont know this answer and i researched and like i dont know? thanks... Dan

ef-8 is the cr-x si-r == ef-9 is the civic si-r

as for the bumper, as far as i know you need the whole kit;

bumper, headlights, radiator support, hood and fenders.

i am not 100% sure of this though, because someone here used the USDM bumper with the SiR hood and headlights. search for that thread, its around here somewhere.

i know for the crx you can use the usdm radiator support, you just have to shim it out towards the front of the car to get the hood latch to catch...its the same as the jdm one....and for the fenders, the only difference is the sidemarkers....i have never installed one but i have researched it quite a bit and that is what i found...

You also need the filler piece that sits above the bumper as well. The USDM version will not work with the other parts. However, if you really can use the USDM bumper on an SiR front end, you might be able to use the USDM filler piece.

as stated above...ef8 is crx, ef9 is hatch, and ef2 is sedan(people always forget that one)

now for the front end conversion's fitment the t bar support/radiator support is not necesary but a little shimming is on both the hatch and the rex (this was stated above as well in reference to the crx). for the hatch only the bumper will bolt on without the rest of the stuff but since it carries a more round body line it will be obvious that it does not belong as a small lip will stick out from under the front filler piece. this is not corrected by simply adding the fille piece since the headlight shape and width is different. so at that point you have to add the headlights which will in turn not work with the usdm hood. so now you have to have teh hood. it is one of those setups for it to look right you have to hvae all of it. with the crx the filler piece is integrated into the bumper so therefore simply swapping the bumper only does not work. you can fit it and you will occasionally get someone who says they like it and it looks more aggressive but the truth is tehy are dumb and couldn't afford to buy the whole frontend.

do it, it looks nice but for the sake of clean hondas everywhere-do it right.
