Anyone know the difference between REAL spoon mirrors and the cheap imitation ones they sell on ebay?

i believe the real ones have a blue tint on the mirror and the fake ones are clear, but it might be the other way around so someone can correct me if im wrong

Fake Carbon Spoon mirrors are carbon fiber all the way around , as to the Genuine Carbon Spoon mirrors, they're carbon fiber just on the mirror part and the part that bolts up to the car is flat black.

Fake A$$ knock offs the glass doesnt fit right and they are near impossible to adjust especially if the glass is too big. My passenger one faces down and i cont move it without breaking the glass, Id be careful which ones you get.
As for the look i love how they look and they also have blue tint.

Cmon, use your head, how hard would it be to put blue tint on them? Looking for the real CF seems to make more sense.
Best bet is to buy them from someone reputable and trustworthy, who would not sell knock off parts and try to pass them as authentic.

real spoon mirrors have a blue tint, fake spoon mirrors also have a blue tint to them. Best bet is to either buy them from a rep. shop like http://www.jhpusa.com, or if you can actually look at them before you buy them, real spoon mirrors are made for RHD cars so the objects on our USDM cars will "be closer then they appear." Just how our stock mirrors say that on our passanger side. Ive heard of a couple fake spoon mirrors that also do this.. so watch out when buying used.

Yes, the newer (spoon) ones have blue tint, However they don't say "objects in mirror are smaller than they appear"
Oh yeah, and you can see out of the real spoon mirrors hehe.
P.S. My (authentic) Spoon mirrors are for sale $200 (EK)
thanks
Alex

Thats not a bad price, my knockoff CTR's were $125. Then again mine are power mirrors.
I thought you couldnt put RHD mirrors on LHD cars because the left side has a curve to it for visibility, that would destroy visibility on a LHD car?

I'm pretty sure the knock off mirrors, are just flat payne glass to keep them as cheap as possible. I just noticed when I have the knock offs, they had very little adjustability, and provided no help while driving haha.
