I have a red Momo rookie in my 90 Integra. Does it clash? Sure, probably. Does it hold me in place? Yes. Do I care if someone thinks it clashs? Not in the least.

I say go for it, if it will hold you in better than the stock seat then that's always a good thing. It won't look out of place in your car.

 

I can't find a pic of aoigsr's car, but he only has one red recaro srd in his ssb gsr. His other one sits in front of his huge tv for gt3

Mismatched seats will make you look like a riceboy with a limited budget. Don't do it.

 

I always thought that only riceboys worried about being called riceboys. He's putting in a racing bucket to hold himself in better for competition use. He doesn't sit on the passenger side so why waste money on putting a seat there too? So his interior looks prettier? Some people want what's functional and don't give a crap about making their car pretty or worrying if someone will label them as rice. People who care about other people's opinion of their car get a from me. Do want you want.

 

Limited budget, yes. Riceboy is debatable - it's not an LS, after all.

Well it's not exactly a racing bucket. A mismatched racing bucket actually looks fine in a stock interior, I rarely see 2 genuine race buckets in a car. But something about the SR3 being a more stock-looking seat is what makes me concerned that it'll just look retarded, because it's not an out-and-out racing seat.

Hrm... I have two Red Recaros. the other one doesn't go in cause my wife cannot recline when she wants to sleep while I drive on the freeway. my Recaro's require me to turn the **** to adjust the recline position. With GSR stock seats, it's just a handle. Very nice for my wife.

I personally don't give a flying rats anus what my passengers think or whether they can recline and sleep or not...I have an R for pete sakes....you don't like ...go get yourself a fat caddy...my 2 cents...

Remove the passenger seat if you cannot afford to do both.

Mixing and matching seats look horrible.

 

Personally I would rather have one recaro and a different passenger seat then no passenger seat at all. It looks like drivin miss daisy if you have passengers sittin in the back with you drivin up front by yourself.

 

This is a pretty funny debate....

Until I saw the pic, I kept thinking the left seat was the passenger seat (being used to RHD cars, being from Asia/Australia).

Mostly, JDM Recaros (as in SR3s) are found only second hand and in pairs, since in (for example) RHD countries, selling left (passenger) seat is near to impossible on its own (who the hell wants to buy just a passenger Recaro??) so ppl sell them in pairs.

They should split the pairs and sell more left side seats to markets like the US and Korea and the right side to every other country...

I have a MOMO bucket seat up front and a stock passenger seat. This is the best of both worlds for any car that sees both autoX and daily driving. I mean, I have everyone from my grandma to "john doe" seating in my passenger seat and the backseat (quick tilt is a must). I surely can't get a bucket seat for the passeger that'll only fit 25% of the body type.

I say you do what you have in mind. Too bad, you didn't make this a pool. Then, we could've really given you a hard time.

 

Yeah polls suck. I think I am just going to go ahead and get one seat, if anything. The car is leased, does this require much drilling? I think I'd be looking at an SR3 or maybe an SRD. Thanks all.

BTW that is one beautiful car (AoiGSR). I assume that's an aftermarket paint job? It's sweet.

 

The only problem with getting one seat is some driver's education days require the same level of support (including seats) for driver and passenger (i.e., instructor).
