Patience is my best words of advice... deals will always come around. A few months ago a guy sold his CRX with an ITR crate motor with some very nice mods for just about 7k

I think that is a decent price for a full changeover.

you'll need the hydro mount kit from HASport if you want to use the ITR tranny...

I say throw in another $1500+ for maintenance and other swap parts and you'll be good to go....

Hook up with some friends and do it yourself! You"ll save a ton of money and its not that hard. I just did one with a buddy in his CRX HF!

dont get your hopes up a stock b18c has about 175-180 wheel hp still good. find a import shop in your area that does swaps have them do it, you might pay more but i bet they will do a better job then you will and yes its worth it when you get your car back you'll have a smile from ear to ear

um, no, newb. have you ever put in an engine yourself? do you know what it feels like to have the satifaction of making a car go from running a 19.0 to a 14.0? no. let te guy do it himself. the swap is VERY straightforward. you need a mount kit, linkage, and wiring. thats it. its basically an r+r job. dont tell people to pay someone else to do it. whats gonna happen when the car breaks? is he gonna take it back to that import shop and let them fix it for a ton of money? if he had put the motor in himself he would have learned what it took to fix it, and not had to pay somone.

my opinion has always been, if you cannot maintain a fast car, then you should NOT drive one. plain and simple, if you cant fix it when it breaks, then dont put it in. and btw, this is from someone who has done MANY swaps myself.

the only swap i let someone else do, the car spun out and hit a tree cause the ball joint didnt have a nut on it.

moral of my rant: DO IT YOURSELF.

Brett

papi, i also kno that when swapping a JDM ITR engine into a usdm honda, you have to deal with the difference of axle diameter, the jdm engine has 36mm axle holes, but the usdm hub uses 32mm, look into the axles your buying with the swap, thats a good price, but see what they can do with you for your axles.

PS> Listen to Brett with the STDs lol dont go out and pay someone to do the swap, anyone with a little more than basic car knowledge can generally install the engine, get a few buddies and have some fun, there's no feeling to describe getting something like this done with your own two hands!
