9.5k RPM all motor, should i upgrade alternator?
my alternator crapped out and i bought a replacement, im thinking about having my original dead one remans to be more powerful but i dont know if it is worth it.
car has no stereo, just aggresive bseries, lmk what you think. thanks

i don't see why you would need to beef it up. if you don't have anything that needs power :HUGE car stereo, neons, railroad air horn, bling bling ect.ect: then you don't need the alternator to work harder to make more power to keep your battery charged.
waste IMO.

i was just thinking from an ignition standpoint, but it makes sense that if the alternator is not strained by all the other crap than it would hold up.... btw the alternator turned out to be fine, the wiring harness developed a crack from age and shorted, blew the alternator-to-battery cable and broke the connection.
i just replaced the wire with an 8gauge car stereo monster cable and it seems to have fixed the problem.

The same goes with A/C compressor, you tend to wear out the clutch and coil when your motor is constantly reving to 8 grand.
Yeah, I ******* know, not many of you have A/C in your HOTROD all motor cars, but us that live in hot climates, we have too. Cause we have daily driven cars, lol
Goes with the rotaries guys, reving up to 15k at the track, my ear is still ringing from last nite, lol

If I recall, I'm on my 4th one in the past 2 years. Its a good thing I kept my recipe, lol

so i guess there is a benifit if your reving really really high constantly...
my bad... do what you will, but i think i would still not beef it unless i had lots of extra spending cash. i personally haven't seen one go for reasons like that, but i guess im not surrounded by cars reving that high all the time either....so what do i know... lol
good luck

no ac in my "hot rod"
where would be a good place to get the alternator internals reworked? or is it somthing i can do myself?
i think car stereo enthusuasts change out the alternators, ill post in audio-video forum too.
