Well I finally aquired a p28, now I need to chip it so I can finally feel higher than a 7k redline. I have a place in town that can custom it to my choices. But I have a few questions.

First some background-
stock b18c1 (inside 95 eg hatch)
short ram
4-1's (2.5" collector)
strasight pipe
Apexi World sport exhaust

With in the next few weeks will be adding skunk2 intake manifold and stage 2 cams with full type r valve train (or something better depening on money)...

So with these above mods at what point should I activate vtec? Im told between 5200 and 5800 rpms. Also told that vtec hits alot more pronounced in the higher rpms. Im also told to raise the rev limit to around 9500. I wont be revving that high untill I have the cams and full valve train upgrade installed. The guy also carries the basic shelf chips also (aka Mugen, Spoon, Jun, J's racing). Would any of those chips be good for me. Which one will run allright untill I get the rest of the parts on and get my car tuned? Fuel tunning will be handled via VAFC and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Thanks for all the help guys...

had a question. you say you have a 2.5" collector, but you have a ws exhaust. the ws has a 2.25" piping diameter, correct? did you use a 2.5" to 2.25" adapter or am i missing something?
