Changing front brakes
I am semi mechanical, but I have never worked on my 96 Civic before. Is there anything tricky or is changing the front rotors and pads basically the same as other cars?

The only hard part about changing out the front rotor would be the phillips head screw (x2) securing the rotor to the hub. You'll more than likely need an impact screwdriver to get these guys off....I know I did.
Other than that, you'll need something to collapse the caliper piston back into its bore (a c-clamp works nicely).

I think he's refering to the kind that you hit the end of it with a hammer, not the one for an impact gun, because that would just strip the screw with all that torque.

It'd be better to have but you don't 100% need it. I was able to change the rotors on my car without an impact driver.
