I have searched and read up alot about didn't really came across the answer to this. Just wondering how high can you rev a stock JDM GSR bottom end? Assuming the head is built and can handle the high revs and that you are actually making power. Plan is to build the head over winter this year and build the bottom end next winter. Thanks.
I have seen stock blocks go well over 10,000 all the time and live to tell about it. I would not do it everyday, but it can be done

9000 should be ok, user len revved the **** out of his R bottom end all the time and never had any problems, 10K on stock block daily

also i forgot to mention but be aware that anything past 9k w/o ems is not good. the honda brain on maps to 9k regardless if you chip or not.

That's a different story though, because B16's have a better Rod/Stroke ratio and GS-R motors.
If you really wanted to rev to 9k, I suppose it wouldn't be a problem as long as it wasn't something you were doing at every stop light

I should rephrase......i am not going from stop light to stop light pushing the crap out the car.....infact, i seldomly redline my car on the streets. However, i do track my car (road course) meaning it will see 8500-9000 rpm for a period of 20 to 30 min....just wondering if the stock GSR bottom end can handle the abuse.

my 3k miles B18C5 rev up to 10k one time at a miss-shift, OEM **** is strong, lol
Just rev till it stop making power, there's no point to rev your motor like a Rotary.

What are you saying, that the motor simply stopped producing any means of power after the factoy rev limit? Hmmm.........

we rev our race car to 9300 . It's got skunk2 stage 2s and skunk2 valvetrain .
And it does make plenty of power at 9300..actually only a couple whp less than at the power peak..
Stock gsr bottom end..
It's only been in 3 races so I can't say if it'll last or not but so far there haven't been any problems..

Actually it's kind of hard to tell what the hell you are trying to say.

We are talking a JDM GSR block not LS/VTEC, and what if the cams are making power past 8700, are you just going to stop revving it?

Wher takeing about STOCK Motor's HH88/ Not builde motors but yes you can REV your motor to 10K but Not make Power
I dont thinke you can make power on a stock GSR block 9K is oRigth on it.</TD></TR></TABLE>
The block had CTR pistons, and stock everything else. I hardly consider that built. The original topic was how high can you rev a stock JDM GSR bottom end. He didn't say stock head

Wrong yet again.
We are talking about stock BOTTOM ENDS if you care to re-read the title of the topic you choose to post in.
